Shallot Digging Experience Fair

Events

It's time for pickled shallots in the early summer. Dig them up, savor them, and enjoy a slightly special holiday.

A "harvesting experience" limited to 100 people, where you can dig up seasonal shallots with your own hands.
At this open-air market, you can enjoy the flavors of Hosoiri, featuring freshly picked vegetables, local specialties, game meat curry, and food trucks.

"Rakkyo," a specialty of the Hosoiri and Osawano districts, is in season in July.

At the popular annual "Rakkyo (Japanese Shallot) Harvesting Fair," you can visit the fields and enjoy the experience of digging up rakkyo with your own hands. Enjoying the taste of seasonal harvests while smelling the scent of the soil is a pleasure unique to this time of year.

On the day of the event, you can enjoy the flavors of the Hosoiri and Osawano areas, along with the sale of locally grown summer vegetables and specialty products, as well as the presence of wild game curry and food trucks.

*The shallot digging experience is limited to the first 100 people.
