A prayer for that first step in opening up the mountain.

[Registration for the 2026 tour has closed.]

The "Yakushidake Summer Mountain Opening Climbing Event" marks the start of the summer climbing season on Mt. Yakushidake (elevation 2,926m) in the Northern Alps.

After a prayer ceremony to ensure safety during the climb, participants will aim for the summit over two days and one night.
This climb, in which we carry the statues of Yakushi Nyorai, Nikko Bosatsu, and Gekko Bosatsu, which have been carefully stored during the winter, is not just a simple mountain climb, but a special experience walking alongside a long-standing faith.

The route that passes through Tarodaira Hut offers a time to take each step while facing the magnificent natural surroundings.
The feeling of accomplishment at the summit, where prayers intertwine, is a unique experience only found in this climbing event.

Why not experience the start of the climbing season firsthand?
