The "Iwase Minato Festival," which adds color to the summer in Iwase, Toyama City,
This festival, unique to a town that has lived in harmony with the sea, begins with a memorial service for those lost at sea and a prayer service for maritime safety.
The "Iwase Madara," a Toyama City-designated intangible folk cultural property that has been passed down since the Edo period, was performed.
Local preservation societies and children will deliver powerful singing and dancing performances.
Around the venue, Iwase Canal Hall, there were a variety of events including brass band performances, taiko drumming, and food stalls.
The atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable, even for families.
If the weather and other conditions are right, Iwase sometimes launches its unique message fireworks.
The spirit of tradition and the warmth of the town create a gentle yet passionate atmosphere, making this a summer festival unique to Iwase.
