A summer event that brightly colors the area around Toyama Station with sunflowers.
🌻🌻"SUNFLOWER toyama station 2026"🌻🌻 will be held.

During this period, the city will be filled with summery colors, including sunflower illuminations in the plaza in front of the south exit of Toyama Station and an installation displaying photographs of sunflowers.

A special event will be held on Saturday, July 25th. In front of the Shinkansen ticket gates at Toyama Station, there will be a workshop where you can create your own original fan by writing your favorite words in calligraphy, as well as a calligraphy performance by calligrapher Dai Mori.

■Handmade Fan Workshop
This workshop allows you to create a one-of-a-kind original fan by writing your favorite words in calligraphy. Teachers from the Toyama Calligraphy Association will provide gentle instruction.

Capacity: about 200 people

■Calligraphy Performance
Calligrapher Dai Mori will be showcasing his calligraphy on a tapestry to be displayed at Toyama Station. You can enjoy his powerful calligraphy performance up close.

■Sunflower light-up
The floor of the plaza in front of the south exit of Toyama Station will be specially decorated with images of colorful sunflowers.

■Sunflower Installation
Photographs of sunflowers from around the city will be displayed in wooden frames, adding a summery touch to the area around Toyama Station.

■ Wrapped train
A streetcar wrapped in the "Toyama Pattern" design will be in operation for a limited time.
Operating period: August 1st (Sat) - August 30th (Sun)
Route: Loop Line (Route 3)

■ Submissions for the Painting Contest
We are accepting entries for paintings on the theme of "Smiles, Sunflowers, and Summer Memories." Prizes will be awarded to the top winners. Submitted works will be displayed at a later date in the gallery on the second floor of the Overd Hall's main hall.
Theme: Smiles, sunflowers, summer memories
Target audience: Toyama City residents who are junior high school age or younger.
Artwork size: A4 drawing paper, landscape orientation
Art materials: Free choice
