Ushidake Lantern Festival
Wishes float up into the night sky at this "slope of light" that only appears in summer.
One night, the Ushidake Onsen ski resort is filled with countless "lights."
That is the "Ushidake Lantern Festival," where 500 lanterns float into the air.
Each lantern is decorated with a wish or a picture, and then released into the night sky as the countdown begins.
The sight of red, blue, and purple LEDs floating gently into the air is like watching the moment stars are born.
The illuminated ski slopes, their colors gently swaying in the summer night breeze,
Yosakoi dance, food trucks, and even tent saunas,
A lively atmosphere and warmth spread throughout the area, unique to this day.
The mountain night air, the shimmering light, and the special feeling of "releasing your wishes into the sky."
It remains in photographs, in our eyes, in our hearts, and in our memories.
This is a fantastical summer night unique to Ushidake.
