Japan's No. 1 "Least Helpful" Slope Camp: Freedom Takes Center Stage
The camping area at Awasuno Ski Resort boasts of being "Japan's least-maintained campsite."
The appeal lies in not being bound by detailed procedures upon arrival, being able to drive your car to your favorite spot on the slopes, and setting up camp at your own pace.
The campsite has toilets (24 hours) and a cooking area, and bonfires are allowed (open fires are not permitted). You can also use nearby hot springs at a discount, so you can freshen up and reset after a day of fun before heading into the night.
This is perfect for people who want to enjoy the simple pleasure of "spending time freely" in nature.

Our ski resort uses goats for environmental maintenance such as mowing the grass. They are controlled with leashes, so please rest assured that they will not pose any danger to our guests. Since this is a natural area, wild animals will frequently appear. Please do not feed them or get too close. Also, when sleeping, please put food and other items inside your tent to prevent them from being disturbed. Please be quiet after 9 PM. There are many insects, so we recommend taking precautions such as wearing long sleeves, long pants, and using insect repellent. |
