Papermaking experience / Keijusha
Experience
Experience the natural warmth of Yao washi paper with your fingertips.
You can easily experience "Yao Washi," a traditional craft passed down in Yao-machi, Toyama City, at Keijusha Washi Bunko.
The moment when the drops of paper scooped up by the wooden frame sway evenly and then smoothly transform into a single sheet is quite moving.
Since the finished product is made by scattering paper-cutting motifs on washi paper about the size of A3, the final product is truly "my own design."
It only takes about 10 minutes to make, and you can take it home the same day, which is a great advantage (reservations required).
Enjoy the art of washi paper making, where even the gentle feel of the paper becomes a cherished memory.
