River Cruise / Matsukawa Sightseeing Boat
Matsukawa Historical Cruise
The "Matsukawa Sightseeing Boat (Matsukawa Historical Cruise)" takes you on a leisurely boat trip along the Matsukawa River, which flows through the heart of Toyama City. The boat follows the old course of the Jinzu River, which once protected Toyama Castle.
The cruise departs from and returns to "Matsukawa Chaya" within Toyama Castle Park. During the approximately 30-minute cruise, you will visit seven bridges with the guidance of a unique captain.
In spring, the area is adorned with a pink tunnel of approximately 530 cherry trees stretching for about 2.4 km, selected as one of "Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Viewing Spots." The fresh greenery of early summer and the vibrant autumn foliage are also highlights, as the water's surface is colored by the changing seasons.
Even in the heart of the city, you'll experience a sense of the extraordinary.
Before and after boarding, take a break at "Matsukawa Chaya," located next to the boarding area.
Toyama Castle offers sweets such as matcha parfaits and red bean mochi, as well as light meals, making it a relaxing rest stop during your sightseeing.
