Learn to make traditional trout sushi by hand.
Yoshidaya Masuzushi Honpo is a long-established shop founded in 21, located in Annoya, Toyama City, along the streetcar line.
Here, you can enjoy a hands-on experience where you can learn how to make "Masuzushi," a representative local delicacy of Toyama, by actually making it yourself.
The guide for the experience is the third-generation owner, Masatoshi Yoshida.
While listening to stories about the history of trout sushi and the methods that have been passed down through generations, we lay out the bamboo leaves, arrange the trout, and fill it with vinegared rice.
Each step of the process is filled with the wisdom and ingenuity of the craftsmen.
The finished trout sushi can be taken home as a souvenir. This dish, which you created with your own hands, will surely remain in your heart as a memory of your trip and as a taste of Toyama.
Recommended for both locals and tourists. This experience of "making" food brings you much closer to Toyama's food culture.
