Yamakawa Main Store in Izumi-cho has been in business since 1926 (Showa 1). Their shaved ice, a beloved treat for over 100 years, is a quintessential summer treat in Toyama. The reason for its long-lasting popularity lies in the taste passed down from the first generation and the meticulous attention to detail in adjusting the ice-shaving method according to the temperature and humidity of the day. The most popular item, "Uji Milk Kintoki," is exceptional with the rich aroma of matcha dissolved in syrup and the elegantly sweet red bean paste made fresh daily. You can enjoy a nostalgic summer moment while listening to the gentle murmur of the Itachi River flowing in front of the store.

Wakaba offers traditional Japanese sweets such as taiyaki, dango, and anmitsu. The owner trained at one of Tokyo's top three taiyaki shops and has been preserving the taste he inherited from them for half a century. A summer staple is their "ice water." The coarsely shaved ice has a refreshing crunch that helps to beat the intense summer heat. Among the most popular items is the menu item with "kintoki" in the name.
