ABOUT
The streets of Toyama become the stage for the festival.
The Toyama Festival, a major autumn event in Toyama, is held mainly around Toyama Castle Park and Castle Ruins Avenue.
The city will be filled with exciting events such as the "Toyama Yosakoi Festival," the "Etchu Owara-bushi National Competition," and the "2026 Corporate Tug-of-War Tournament."
There are plenty of events for families to enjoy, including "A Festival of Police Officers' Performances and Drills," "Kids' Park in the City," "Working Vehicles," and "Traditional Performances by the Toyama Prefecture Young Firefighters Association."
The "Starry Sky Bazaar," featuring gourmet food and sweets, will also be held at the castle ruins park. Enjoy two days filled with the fun of seeing, eating, and experiencing.

ACCESS
Venue access
The main venue for the Toyama Festival is around Toyama Castle Park and Castle Ruins Avenue. You can get there on foot or by tram from Toyama Station.
Walking distance from Toyama Station
It's about a 10-minute walk from the south exit of Toyama Station to the main venue, Toyama Castle Ruins Park.
Use the tram
Take the city tram loop line from Toyama Station for about 6 minutes. Get off at "International Conference Center" stop, and the venue is about a 2-minute walk from there.
Public transportation is recommended.
Heavy congestion is expected around the venue on the day of the event. Please use public transportation whenever possible.
*Traffic restrictions will be in place around the venue during the event. Please check the times and areas of restriction before coming.
TRAFFIC INFORMATION
Traffic restrictions and temporary bus stops
In conjunction with the Toyama Festival, traffic restrictions, including a ban on vehicle traffic, will be implemented around the castle ruins main street.
During the restricted hours, the "Castle Ruins Park" and "City Hall" bus stops will be unavailable, and temporary bus stops will be set up.
Please check the traffic regulation map before you arrive.

The Toyama City Municipal Castle Ruins Park parking lot will be closed to vehicles from 11:30 to 21:30 on Saturday, September 26th, and from 11:30 to 18:30 on Sunday, September 27th.

*The area around the venue is expected to be crowded. Please use public transportation whenever possible.

A variety of shops line the street, offering everything from gourmet food and sweets to drinks.
The town is enveloped in energy and color. The 26th Toyama Yosakoi Festival
The Toyama Yosakoi Festival, with its vibrant costumes and energetic performances, enlivens the streets of Toyama. In 2026, 69 teams and approximately 3,100 participants from within and outside the prefecture are expected to take part.
Enjoy the vibrant parade unfolding on the main street of the castle ruins, and the powerful performances on the specially constructed stage. Pay attention to the different costumes, music, and choreography of each team.

The best in Japan, Etchu Owara, a singing competition. The 31st Etchu Owara-bushi National Festival 2026
This is a national competition to showcase the singing abilities of "Etchu Owara-bushi," a representative folk song of Toyama Prefecture. Singers from all over Japan will gather to demonstrate their vocal talents and expressive abilities.
In addition to the competition, there will also be performances by past winners and folk song and dance groups.

Witness the thrilling competition up close as the teammates, fueled by the cheers of their teammates, pull on a single rope.

Look, ride, and take pictures! Working vehicles
Various "working vehicles" that play an active role in the community, such as fire trucks and buses, will gather on the castle ruins main street.
In addition to displaying approximately 20 vehicles, there will also be opportunities for rides and commemorative photos. This is a family-friendly event that will stimulate children's dreams and curiosity.

The skills of construction workers passed down through generations Toyama Prefecture Young Firefighters Association Traditional Performance
They will showcase traditional skills passed down through generations of construction workers, such as traditional work songs, banner waving, and ladder climbing.
We're also planning a mini ladder climbing experience for children and a photo session where you can wear a traditional Japanese happi coat. Come and enjoy the skills and culture of artisans up close.

The "Town Kids Park" event is also planned to be held in the grassy area. It's an area where parents and children can easily stop by for a meal or a break after playing.

Connecting with the next generation! Toyama Festival Stamp Rally
Around the stalls in the east plaza
This is a stamp rally where you collect stamps by visiting the stalls in the eastern plaza of the Starry Sky Bazaar and taking on quizzes and other challenges.
Depending on the number of stamps you collect, you will receive prizes such as snacks, balloons, and portable fans.
