Founded in 1895 (Meiji 28), this is one of Toyama City's leading long-established soba restaurants with a history of 130 years. They offer a wide variety of dishes, including soba, udon, rice bowls, and set meals, so you can be sure to leave feeling satisfied.
The name "Daikokuya" originates from an incident in 1985 when a mold of Daikoku-sama (the god of wealth) was washed ashore at the shop's entrance during a flood of the nearby Jinzu River. The current owner is the fifth generation, who honed his skills at a famous restaurant in Tokyo. He is particular about the ingredients and strives to achieve even greater deliciousness every day.
The handmade "Special Selection Soba," available only on Wednesdays and Sundays, is also popular. Don't miss the seasonal menu items such as sudachi soba, mushroom soba, and red snow crab egg drop soba. This is a restaurant where you can discover new delicious flavors every time you visit.
