18Manhole Card (9th Series) Distribution Begins Announcement
Toyama City has begun distributing manhole cards (the 9th edition) to commemorate the "Manhole Summit in Toyama" (to be held in October 2024).
This card features a special design depicting the "Goddess of Manholes" and the "Water Angel," who appeared at the summit's talk event, against the backdrop of Toyama Bay and the Tateyama mountain range.
The goddess is inspired by the thistle, the former flower of Toyama City, and the angel is inspired by the sunflower, the current city flower, representing beings that gently watch over Toyama City.
Manhole cover cards are popular nationwide as collectible items that convey the charm and stories of a region, and this is the ninth type of card released for Toyama City.
