A beloved local confection from Toyama, enjoyed across generations.

Toyama's famous confection, "Toyaman," is made by the sweets specialty shop, Libran.

This is a fusion of Japanese and Western confectionery, made by wrapping smooth strained bean paste in fragrant pie crust and baking it slowly in a kiln. The light sweetness that brings out the original flavor of the red beans and the crisp pie crust create an exquisite harmony.

We also recommend "Nama Toyaman," which is filled with a milky cream flavored with vanilla, and "Kankontan," another popular confectionary that rivals Toyaman.
