Fugan Suijo Line
A small boat trip through Toyama on a water elevator
From Fugan Canal Kansui Park to the port town of Iwase.
On the Fugan Suijo Line, you can enjoy a cruise set against the backdrop of the Fugan Canal, a place rich in history and natural beauty.
You can board the boat at Fugan Canal Kansui Park, and there are also services that go from Iwase to Fugan Canal Kansui Park, allowing you to enjoy a "water journey" connecting the city and the port in both directions.
Some of the boats feature modern, advanced designs equipped with solar panels, blending seamlessly with the canal and park landscapes.
The main attraction is the Nakajima Lock Gate, a nationally designated important cultural property.
The "water elevator," which slowly moves up and down a water level of approximately 2.5 meters, is a fascinating experience that will surely captivate even first-time visitors.
In addition to cruises heading to Iwase, you can also choose from a sightseeing course around Kansui Park (weekends and holidays) or a round trip course to Nakajima Lock Gate, which is great because you can choose according to your time and mood.
In spring, a special cherry blossom cruise is held on the Fugan Suijo Line, allowing you to enjoy the cherry blossoms in Kansui Park. This gentle moment, surrounded by cherry blossoms, the breeze and sunlight by the water, will add a touch of elegance to your trip to Toyama.
