Koshino Matsubara, Hamakurosaki Beach, Hamakurosaki Campsite

Located in the northern part of Toyama City, the "Koshi no Matsubara" stretches along the coastline from the west side of the Joganji River estuary to Iwase. With its endless rows of beautiful black pine trees, it is one of Toyama's iconic landscapes.

A pine forest stretches along the white sandy beach, and the Tateyama mountain range rises to the southeast.
The scenery, with its overlapping blue sea, green pine trees, and white sand, is so calming and soothing, regardless of the season.
Just visiting gives you a sense of tranquility that makes you feel like you've escaped from everyday life.

The pine-lined avenue, stretching approximately 4 km, was planted in 1601 by Maeda Toshinaga, the second lord of the Kaga Domain, along the route he took for his sankin-kotai (alternate attendance) journeys. It is now designated as a natural monument of Toyama Prefecture.
This scenic spot, where history and nature harmonize, has been selected as one of the "100 Best White Sand and Green Pine Landscapes."

At the adjacent Hamakurosaki Campsite, you can enjoy camping and barbecues in the shade of the pine trees.
At dusk, the sky, painted with colors across the sea, aligns perfectly with the Tateyama mountain range, creating a truly magical atmosphere.

To the west of Matsubara is the "Shinran Shonin's Sitting Pine," said to be the largest pine tree in the area, where you can experience the history that has been quietly passed down.

The view from this coastline has been selected as one of the "best seats to admire Mount Tateyama," making it a spectacular spot where you can fully experience the essence of Toyama.
