Iwase Canal Hall
A starting point in the port town of Iwase, where you can enjoy both gourmet food and souvenirs.
Located along the Toyama Port (Iwase Canal), the "Iwase Canal Hall" is the gateway to exploring Iwase, housing a tourist information center, restaurant, cafe, and souvenir shop.
This is a great spot to relax and enjoy the pleasant breeze by the water.
The facility also features a seafood restaurant where you can enjoy fresh seafood from Toyama Bay, as well as a cafe where you can relax with pasta and sweets, making it perfect for a stop during your stroll.
The souvenir corner features local sake, famous sweets, processed seafood products, traditional crafts, and more, so you're sure to find your favorite item to discover in Iwase.
Also popular are the manhole cover card goods (keychains, stickers, biscuits) that can only be purchased at the Iwase Canal Hall.
The design is based on the "Kitamaebune Shipping Agent" design manhole cover card distributed inside the building.
Furthermore, it is also the departure and arrival point for the Fugan Waterway, and cruises from Kansui Park to visit the area are popular.
By using a rental bicycle, you can leisurely explore the port town's alleys and historic buildings at your own pace.
This is a gentle, waterside base that you'll want to visit at the start of your walk around Iwase.
