Jike Park
Jike Park, a small Arashiyama nestled in the countryside, is a place where you can admire both cherry blossoms and autumn leaves.
Jike Park is nestled in the quiet countryside of southern Toyama City.
This place is a "handcrafted garden" that Dr. Kojiro Kato, who was born in Jike, created over 10 years in the early Showa period, using his personal funds as an expression of gratitude to his hometown.
This park evokes the scenery of Arashiyama in Kyoto, with its gently arranged curved paths, stonework, and seasonal flowers, creating a relaxing atmosphere that soothes the soul as you stroll through it.
In spring, cherry blossoms and azaleas adorn the paths; in summer, the shade of the forest trees is pleasant; and in autumn, the maple leaves turn vibrant colors.
Among its many features, the park's most iconic is the "Akagashi grove," a natural monument designated by Toyama Prefecture.
The deep green of the evergreen trees is beautiful throughout the year, making it a quiet place where you can take a deep breath.
Furthermore, the park features a 2.1km "Saigoku Thirty-Three Kannon Pilgrimage Route," where visitors can enjoy a peaceful time walking along the gently undulating mountain path and offering prayers to each Kannon statue.
This popular spot attracts many visitors for walks through the foothills during the spring when the new leaves are lush and during the autumn foliage season, which is at its best from late October to late November (though this can vary slightly from year to year).
This park has a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it perfect for an afternoon when you want to relax and be soothed by nature.
