Jinzu Gorge
My heart is filled with joy every time I drive. National Route 41, Jinzu Gorge Panorama Drive.
The Jinzu Gorge, carved out of the mountains by the Jinzu River over many years, is a truly special scenic spot that displays a completely different beauty in each season.
In spring, the delicate young leaves gently envelop the mountainside, and the river surface sparkles with a soft green, creating a refreshing scene.
In autumn, the canyon is filled with vibrant red and yellow foliage, so beautiful that you'll want to stop your car and admire it.
In winter, the landscape transforms into a serene, snow-covered scene, and the contrast of white and blue gently touches the heart.
In particular, the "Katajikyo Gorge" stretching from Teratsu Bridge to Yoshino Bridge is a popular area known for its beautiful autumn foliage.
With mountains looming on both sides, the entire valley is dyed in the color of autumn leaves—a true "reward of autumn."
Furthermore, there are numerous viewpoints in the surrounding area where you can overlook the tranquil surface of the dam lake, as well as spots offering panoramic views of the V-shaped valley.
The view from the Ioritani Pass observation deck is breathtaking, allowing you to appreciate the dynamic scale of the Jinzu Gorge.
We might take a little detour during a drive, or go out to take pictures of the autumn foliage.
This is a place to be healed by the great nature of Toyama, perfect for when you want to feel the breath of nature.
🍁 Best time to see the autumn leaves: Typically late October to late November (may vary depending on the year)
