Kakuganji Temple is a Shingon Buddhist temple located within Fuchu Furusato Nature Park in Fuchu-machi, Toyama City. It is a historic temple that has long been affectionately known as "Hokueizan." From its grounds, one can enjoy a panoramic view of the Tateyama mountain range, and it is also known as a scenic spot where cherry blossoms bloom in abundance in spring.

According to temple records, the temple was founded in 701 AD, and it is said that Saichō visited it during the Heian period. During the Edo period, it is said that the lord of the Toyama domain held cherry blossom viewing parties and poetry gatherings there, and the temple has been carefully preserved as a place where the scent of culture thrives.

Within the temple grounds, elegant events are still carried on today, such as the "Fuchu Kyokusui no En" (Fuchu Winding Stream Banquet), held in spring, where people float sake cups on a winding stream and compose waka poems. It is a temple where you can spend peaceful moments admiring the cherry blossoms, strolling through the nature park, and quietly offering prayers in the main hall.
