Toyama Clay Doll Workshop
Create your own unique Toyama souvenir through a painting experience.
Located in a corner of the Toyama City Folk Art Village, "Toyama Clay Doll Workshop" is a small workshop where you can experience the charm of Toyama's traditional craft, "Toyama clay dolls."
The greatest joy is being able to paint on these clay dolls, which are characterized by their simple and gentle texture that has been passed down since the Edo period, with your own hands.
By choosing colors and moving the brush, a one-of-a-kind original work of art is created.
It's the perfect time to create lasting travel memories and unwind.
The exhibition and sales corner features over 800 items of approximately 60 different types, including "Tenjin-sama," the god of learning, as well as Hina dolls, medicine seller dolls, and zodiac animal dolls.
The richly colored expressions and somewhat humorous shapes embody the warmth of the local culture and the gentle skills of the craftsmen.
It's a popular spot for families, offering a relaxed experience where you can enjoy "time spent engaging with handcrafted activities."
