Ushidake Walking Trail, Nabetani Beech Forest, Fukadou Beech Forest

Sightseeing

Walking through the forest, getting closer to the sky, a walking path greeted by beech trees.

Enjoy a pleasant mountain stroll through the seasons – a 3km walking trail where you can enjoy flowers and autumn foliage.
A healing time in the beech forest — a quiet forest like a "green sanctuary" spreads across Nabetani and Fukadou.
A breathtaking view as a reward from the mountaintop — a 360° panorama offering a view of the Tateyama mountain range and Toyama Bay.

The Ushidake walking trail is a hiking course of approximately 3 km that runs from Ushidake Onsen Ski Resort/Akatombo Hiroba to the summit.
This nature-rich walking trail offers opportunities to observe flowers and insects from spring to summer, and to enjoy birdwatching while walking through a tunnel of autumn leaves in the fall.

The "Nabetani Beech Forest," located near the 8th station, is a beautiful forest lined with tall beech trees, a tranquil and healing space.
At the summit (elevation 987m), there is a shrine to "Ushidake Daimyojin," and a 360-degree panoramic view awaits, stretching from the Tateyama mountain range to the Toyama Plain, Toyama Bay, Tonami Plain, and the Hakusan mountain range.

Further south of the mountaintop lies the "Fukadou Beech Forest," a cultural property designated by Toyama City, where approximately 300 beech trees, including some over 1,200 years old, grow in clusters.
This area, where Sasa kurilensis and Camellia japonica adorn the forest floor, is one of the few remaining areas of precious nature in the prefecture.
(※The path is narrow and unpaved in some places. Please take sufficient precautions for safety, including bear precautions, and enjoy your trip.)
