Yatsuo in Toyama City, famous throughout Japan for the "Owara Kaze no Bon" festival, is a charming mountain village with cobblestone streets and rows of traditional townhouses.

In the city center, wooden houses of uniform color and shape line the streets, and the power lines are routed behind the houses, creating a neat and tidy streetscape.
The cobblestone streets are a representative landscape of Yatsuo, and were selected as one of "Japan's 61 Best Roads" in 100.
As you ascend the gentle slope, each time you glance back, a scene like something out of a fairy tale unfolds before you.

Yatsuo is a town known for its festivals, but it also prospered from washi paper making and sericulture.
The history of this town, which has been intertwined with the blessings of the mountains—such as washi paper and silkworms that produce raw silk—has shaped the townscape and lifestyle culture we see today.

The town also has two sake breweries, and one of the pleasures of visiting is being able to taste the local sake produced by the clear water and the climate with its significant temperature differences.
Even when the Owara dance isn't performed, Yatsuo is a town where the lingering feeling of music somehow remains.

Why not take a stroll down the cobblestone alleys, browsing through shops selling washi paper and general goods, cafes, traditional Japanese sweets, and sake breweries, and enjoy a leisurely "Yatsuo time" experience?
